SkyDrop Mayhem is an explosive arcade game that transforms simple package delivery into high-stakes chaos! Pilot your drone through a bustling cityscape, dropping payloads onto the right targets while avoiding dangerous zones. With lives on the line, combo multipliers to build, and ever-increasing speed, every second counts!
🎮 How to Play
Basic Controls
SkyDrop Mayhem features incredibly simple one-button controls:
- Mouse Click: Click anywhere on the game canvas to drop your payload
- Spacebar: Press the spacebar to drop your payload
- Touch: On mobile devices, tap the screen to drop
Game Objective
Score as many points as possible by dropping payloads onto GOOD targets while avoiding BAD targets. You start with 3 lives. Hitting bad targets costs you a life. Build combos by hitting consecutive good targets to multiply your score. Survive as long as possible as the city speeds up!
📦 Target Types
GOOD Targets (Hit These!)
These targets award points and build your combo:
- 📦 Delivery Zones (Green): Standard targets worth +10 points. The bread and butter of your score.
- 🚚 Moving Trucks (Blue): Larger, faster targets worth +20 points. Great for building combos.
- 🚨 Emergency Zones (Orange): Small, high-value targets worth +50 points! Rare but extremely rewarding.
BAD Targets (Avoid These!)
These targets penalize you and can cost lives:
- 🏘️ Civilian Areas (Gray): Residential zones. Hitting these costs -20 points AND 1 life!
- ⚠️ Hazard Zones (Red): Dangerous areas with explosives or fire. -30 points AND 1 life lost!
- 🚫 No-Drop Zones (Black): Restricted airspace. Heavy -50 point penalty AND 1 life lost!
💥 Combo System
Building Combos
The combo system is key to achieving high scores:
- Hit 3 good targets in a row → x2 multiplier
- Hit 6 good targets in a row → x3 multiplier
- Hit 9 good targets in a row → x4 multiplier
- Hit 12 good targets in a row → x5 multiplier (MAX)
Losing Your Combo
Your combo resets to x1 if you:
- Hit any bad target
- Miss a payload (doesn't hit any target)
Combo Strategy
At x5 combo, a standard delivery zone is worth 50 points instead of 10! An emergency zone becomes worth 250 points! Building and maintaining your combo is essential for high scores.
🎯 Payload Types
Your drone automatically switches between different payload types approximately every 10 seconds:
Standard Payload (Brown)
- Normal scoring - 1.0x multiplier
- Most common payload type
- Reliable for building combos
Priority Payload (Gold)
- Enhanced scoring - 1.5x multiplier
- Turns a 10-point target into 15 points
- Great for boosting score during combo streaks
Fragile Payload (White)
- Maximum scoring - 2.0x multiplier
- Doubles all point values!
- Rare but extremely valuable - use wisely
Combined Effect: With a x5 combo and a Fragile payload, a single emergency zone hit is worth 500 points!
📊 Scoring System
Score Calculation
Your score for each hit is calculated as:
Final Score = Base Target Score × Payload Multiplier × Combo Multiplier
Examples
- Delivery zone + Standard payload + x1 combo = 10 points
- Delivery zone + Priority payload + x3 combo = 45 points
- Emergency zone + Fragile payload + x5 combo = 500 points
- Truck + Standard payload + x4 combo = 80 points
Negative Scores
Hitting bad targets deducts points (but your score can't go below 0). The payload multiplier also applies to negative scores, so avoid bad targets when carrying valuable payloads!
❤️ Lives System
Starting Lives
You begin each game with 3 lives, displayed as hearts (❤️❤️❤️) below the game.
Losing Lives
You lose 1 life when you hit:
- Civilian areas (🏘️)
- Hazard zones (⚠️)
- No-drop zones (🚫)
Game Over
When all 3 lives are depleted, the game ends. Your final score is compared to your best score, which is saved automatically.
⚡ Difficulty Progression
Dynamic Difficulty
SkyDrop Mayhem gets progressively harder as you play:
- Drone Speed: Increases continuously based on your score (1 extra speed per 200 points)
- Target Speed: Targets move faster as you score higher
- Target Count: More simultaneous targets appear (up to 6 targets at once)
- Target Mix: Higher scores mean more bad targets appear
Speed Progression
- Score 0-200: Slow and manageable
- Score 200-400: Noticeably faster
- Score 400-600: High speed - quick reactions needed
- Score 600+: Extreme speed - expert timing required
🎨 Visual Feedback
Screen Shake
The screen shakes when you hit targets:
- Small shake for delivery zones
- Medium shake for trucks and bad hits
- Large shake for emergency zones and life losses
Floating Score Text
Every hit displays floating text showing points earned or lost. Combo notifications appear in pink when you level up your multiplier.
Color Coding
All targets are color-coded for quick identification:
- Green = Good (Delivery)
- Blue = Good (Truck)
- Orange = Good (Emergency)
- Gray = Bad (Civilian)
- Red = Bad (Hazard)
- Black = Bad (No-Drop)
🎯 Game States
Start Screen
Shows the game title, instructions, and target explanations. Click or press spacebar to begin.
Active Gameplay
Your drone moves continuously, targets move and spawn, and you drop payloads to score. The current payload type is shown below your drone.
Game Over
Displays your final score and best score. If you set a new record, you'll see a gold trophy message. Click to play again!
💡 Quick Start Guide
- Click "CLICK TO START" on the start screen
- Your drone flies automatically left to right
- Click or press spacebar when above a GOOD target (green, blue, orange)
- Avoid hitting BAD targets (gray, red, black) or you'll lose lives
- Build combos by hitting consecutive good targets
- Watch your payload type indicator for bonus scoring
- Survive as long as possible as speed increases
- Beat your high score!
